Suitable for age 14+

Directed by Fraser Scott & Iona Ramsay

“Well, you’d hope they were still together, wouldn’t you? They put it here in red pen, they scratched it onto a wall, that has to mean something, right?”

‘Whitey’, a one-act play, explores the process of entering adulthood, club culture and changing relationships; when we grow into different people, how do our relationships change, and do they sustain? Charly and Erin have been best friends since before they can remember, but forced to spend an uninterrupted night together trapped in a club toilet, they begin to see where their relationship has become irreparably frayed.’

“It really is a wonder that I haven’t dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart”.

This poignant dramatisation of Anne Frank’s world-famous diary is performed by members of PACE Youth Theatre.

Sad Eyes to Smile With

Ink Asher Kemp

Fri 6 September 2019, 7pm-8pm
The Wynd, 6 School Wynd, Paisley PA1 2DB

TICKETS: £5 book here

A stunning piece of performance poetry by Ink Asher Kemp. Ink is definitely a rising talent to watch in the poetry and theatre scene.

Queer identity plus slam poetry divided by austerity and multiplied by three. It’s odd socks, deadline chasing, ice cream and brown envelopes from the DWP. It’s the days when you can and the days when you can’t and the days when you’re eaten by anger. It’s being hugged so tight you forget how to breathe. It’s listening restlessly and choosing to dream.

This is my view, Edinburgh, from 30 feet up. Sitting on the wall of a multi-story carpark, watching the seagulls, sheltered from the wind by the fabric of society. Home. We are 987,000 lungs… breathing, overthinking, stealing. This one..? it’s for the sisters, for the misters and the binary resisters…welcome 50 minuets without caveats, 50 minuets of answers to the questions society never asked.

Sad Eyes to Smile With had work in progress sharings at Dundee Rep and Waterside Arts Centre in Manchester.

Reviews for 147Hz Can’t Pass:

*****”Hemp’s delivery and charisma make you burn to know more…”Fringe Guru

No matter how long the winter – spring is sure to follow. A story about journeys, routine, missed moments, pain, irrational thoughts, assumptions, fear, surprising compassion, screens, memories, loneliness, coffee and unlikely friendships. It’s about how we connect with those around us even on the smallest level and the impact we have on others without knowing it. It’s about seasons and change and how nothing ever stays the same. But mostly it’s about hope and how finding those moments of connection make the world a better place. This show is fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe.
